Build Process

We understand that building your dream tiny home is a big decision, and we’re dedicated to making the process as smooth and transparent as possible. We genuinely care about our clients and want you to feel confident and excited at every step of the journey.

Step1: Explore and Connect

We invite you to visit our workshop at 1256 State Highway 16, Waimauku to see our current projects up close! It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet the team and experience the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each build. If visiting in person isn’t possible, we can connect virtually via Google Meet, WhatsApp, or by phone to discuss your needs. By working closely together and understanding your vision, we can create a tiny home that truly reflects who you are.

During this initial stage, we’ll provide you with key information on:

Customisation & Add-On Options:

We’ll outline the options available to you if you wish to modify any aspect of the base design or add additional features. These changes may incur additional costs due to the labour, design work, or product price differences involved. We’ll ensure all potential costs are communicated openly and transparently.

Pricing & Staged Payment Structure:

We understand the importance of flexible financial solutions. During our initial catch up we’ll detail the payment timeline, including the stages of payment and associated costs.

Build Time:

We’ll provide a realistic construction start date and timeline based on your chosen design and our current project volume. We often have a waitlist for our tiny homes—they’re that popular! However, once we begin construction, you can expect a short turn around time of 8 to 9 weeks.

Transport:

We’ll discuss the logistics of transporting your tiny home, whether you plan to handle it yourself (builds weighing under 3.5 tons) or require a specialised transport company (builds over 4.5 tons). We’ll also take this opportunity to learn more about your specific site conditions, are there any low hanging trees or powerlines?… to ensure a smooth and safe delivery.

Step 2: Securing Your Spot In The Queue

Once you’ve decided to move forward, you can secure your ‘Build Spot’ with a non-refundable deposit of $10,000. At this point, both parties will sign the Build Spot Reservation Agreement. This deposit guarantees your place in our production schedule.

Step 3: Tiny House Construction and Sale Agreement

Once we have finalised all aspects of your build requirements, customisations & add-ons, the Tiny House Construction and Sale Agreement will be ready for your review. To initiate the build process, we require a 50% deposit of the remaining balance (excluding the Build Spot funds). This deposit is due at least 8 weeks before your scheduled build start date, at which point we will begin procurement of materials.

The final 50% of the remaining balance is due during construction, at least 2 weeks prior to transport. Once the final payment is made, we will transfer ownership into your name and provide all relevant documentation, including Plumbing, Gas, and Electrical certificates.

Step 4: The Construction Phase

You’re welcome to visit your tiny home at any point during the construction phase. Simply give Dan or Sally 48 hours’ notice so we can schedule a suitable time.
